LYNNE SCOTT JACKSON

Lynne Scott Jackson is a seasoned communications professional with experience in national consumer marketing, advertising, audience/channel expansion, content development, media relations, strategic advocacy, healthcare, business education, public affairs, corporate social responsibility and social entrepreneurship. Prior to joining The City University of New York - City College as Distinguished Lecturer and Deputy Chair, Media & Communication Arts Department, she was Adjunct Professor at

New York University’s School of Professional Studies.

 

Her consultancy, Millynneum Marketing, Media + Public Affairs, has developed award-winning public relations programs for corporations, businesses and institutions, including: Colgate-Palmolive Company’s Bright Smiles, Bright Futures™ a 30 year corporate social responsibility initiative reaching 1 billion children in 80 countries (Lynne has served as senior consultant since the program’s inception), Pepsi-Cola Company’s “Link” program uniting multicultural business and corporate America, South African Tourism, Schering Plough, The Prostate Net’s Going to the Barbershop to Fight Cancer promotion, Warner Bros. and SKG DreamWorks, to name a few.

JON IWATA

During his 34-year career with IBM, Jon held a variety of senior management roles. He was most recently IBM Senior Vice President and Chief Brand Officer. IBM’s brand is one of the most valuable in the world, a status enhanced by strategic brand platforms that express the company’s strategy, purpose and values. Jon is the architect of several of these platforms, including e-business, Smarter Planet and Watson.

Prior to his role as Chief Brand Officer, Jon led IBM’s global marketing, communications and corporate citizenship organization for nearly a decade. He was chairman of the IBM Values and Policy Advisory Board and chaired IBM’s corporate strategy committee for three years.

Jon is recognized as a leader in both the marketing and corporate communications professions. He is an inductee of the Marketing Hall of Fame, the CMO Club Hall of Fame and the Page Society Hall of Fame, which honors lifetime achievement in business communications. He was named a Brand Genius by AdWeek in 2017 and is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from The Seminar, an organization of Chief Communications Officers.

Julianna Hutson is a seasoned strategic communication executive with a broad range of experience working at the international level in private, government and non- profit. Her work with C-Suite executive leadership includes advising a head of state, ministers of government and corporate leadership across all facets of the industry including public affairs, crisis communication, public relations, advocacy initiatives, employee relations and strategic planning.

HOPE S. YATES

Hope S. Yates, JD, MPH is the Director of Strategy & Communications for the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). She combines her experience as a lawyer and public health professional to develop and lead strategic initiatives to improve women's health care delivery. Hope oversees all communication efforts for the Department of Ob/Gyn and enjoys working with her communications colleagues across CUIMC to connect with patients, providers, and donors. 

LINDSAY GANDOLFO

Lindsay Gandolfo is the Digital Project Director for the Department of Surgery. As the lead strategist for creative content and head of social media, Lindsay takes a hands-on approach to storytelling, patient and provider outreach, and health education. She’s a screenwriter by trade with a background in film and television and has worked in the digital and social media space for more than 10 years. Her penchant for story, passion for people, and out-of-the-box style of online communications has made Columbia Surgery a leading voice for up-to-date news and medical information online.

LAUREN PERLMUTTER

An experienced nonprofit leader with specializations in strategic marketing and communications, financial resource development, capacity-building, and project management, Lauren Perlmutter currently is the Senior Executive Director of Communications and Donor Relations at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Previously Lauren served as the Vice President of Volunteer Leadership Development at the March of Dimes, where she developed and implemented strategies to recruit, retain, and develop board leaders across the countryPrior to that, Lauren held positions with other national and New York based institutions including serving as the Director of Communications at the Trust for Jewish Philanthropy and as Assistant Director of Planning at the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. Lauren began her career in public relations at a boutique firm, Tierney & Company, which specialized in tourism. Lauren holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Management and Public Policy from the Wagner School of Public Service at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Brandeis University.

DIEGO ORTIZ QUINTERO

Diego Ortiz Quintero is a Colombian-born nonprofit communications professional with a focus on health and equity. He began his journey in media as an advocate for the DREAM Act and in-state tuition for undocumented students in New Jersey. Diego graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University and holds a master’s degree from Antioch University in Los Angeles. He currently serves as Director of Communications for the American Heart Association in New York City. 

RITA GARZA

Rita brings 25 years+ of executive-level experience within a range of sectors: financial services, sports, telecommunications, utilities, social services and healthcare, holding leadership positions within marketing communications, corporate social responsibility, and corporate communications. She is considered a tri-sector expert due to her unique ability to effectively work with diverse stakeholders in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.

 

A media spokesperson and messaging coach, Rita is also a requested speaker on a wide variety of issues and topics. She has served in key board positions for various nonprofit organizations across the country.

 

Rita received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations from The University of Texas at Austin and as a National Urban Fellow received a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with honors from the Baruch College, School of Public Affairs, City University of New York.

Whitney Dailey guides agency brand strategy, marketing and thought leadership as Vice President, Marketing/Research & Insights at Porter Novelli.

With a strong background in Purpose, CSR and social impact issues, Whitney positions the agency for growth while furthering its legacy as a pioneer in Purpose communications.

For nearly nine years, Whitney has led the development of the agency’s award-winning research, such as the 2019 Porter Novelli/Cone Purpose Biometrics Study (named Top 14 Research Insights by Institute for Public Relations) and 2019 Porter Novelli/Cone Gen Z Purpose Study.
